Ripal Patel was born into the tiny town of Nadiad within Gujarat. At a very young time, Ripal knew that he was destined to become an elite cricketer in the future when he was a kid.

Ripal Patel was able to count on the full support from his family and parents while he pursued his dreams.

Ripal began by taking up tennis balls at the beginning. Then, Ripal Patel joined a cricket academy. The school was located within the Kheda District, Gujarat.

Despite the absence of a proper infrastructure in his city, Ripal Patel managed to increase his performance significantly.

Ripal Patel’s Coach Vishwajeet Solanki was also a coach for Indian Spinner Axar Patel. Axar Patel said that according to Ripal Patel Axar was a big help to him great deal in improving his game.

Domestic Career

On the 24th of September, 2019 Ripal Patel played his List A debut with Gujarat. He took part in his first match at the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In his first ever encounter, Ripal managed to score just nine runs.

Two months after, on November 11, the 11th of November Ripal Patel was able to make the T20 debut. The debut game took place at the 2019-20 Syed Muhammad Ali Trophy.

In eleven T20 match, Ripal Patel had scored 191 T20 runs at the average being 31.83. His strike rate was 191 and his top score was 41.

He hasn’t been in a position to hit one half-century in the period. However, the way his runs have been scored is sure to impress many.

The most memorable part in the Syed Mushtaq stint had been an innings against Chhattisgarh. Ripal Patel had put in an impressive, but brief innings of only 30 runs during the game. This inning put him in the spotlight.

The process took Ripal Patel a while before he was selected to play in his place in the IPL. The team was not picked in 2019’s IPL auction.

One of the main reasons for the reason he was not selected was his poor domestic performances in the year prior. He tried to be picked as a player for Rajasthan Royals too. However, that didn’t work out well for him.

However, the situation changed following an impressive Syed Mushtaq 2020 Trophy. The team selected him for the Delhi Capitals for the 2021 IPL. He was acquired at a fair cost of 20 lakhs INR from the franchise.

Ripal Patel played his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut on the 4th of October, 2021. He played his first game in the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). This was their 50th game of the season.
